Alice received her formal education from Swinburne University, completing a Bachelor of Design before spending 8 years working as a textile designer for various Australian brands. After nearly a decade in computer based design, Alice was drawn to the freedom and craftsmanship of sculpting jewellery, which served as a meditative practice to break from her day job.
Inspired by natural patterns & forms in the Australian Landscape, Alice works with the ancient technique of lost wax casting – a process whereby each piece is carved in wax, before being cast in precious metals and then filed, hammered and polished to complete the piece. This sculptural practice means a great deal of texture can be created to form organic objects that become modern heirlooms.
Whilst Alice’s work is ever evolving, her dedication to sustainability remains unwavering. All pieces are designed & made in Melbourne from locally sourced & sustainably produced materials. With minimal waste as an important focus, collections are created in small runs with every scrap of metal saved during the working process & melted down to create new works.
